Mind you, I just purchased a brand new registration key for Bad Toys 3D (an old Wolfenstein 3D clone for Windows 3.1) from the original developer, so really as much as things change, some things remain.

Doing some digging for the wiki and look what I found over on itch.io! 3dsoftware-by-jim-ball.itch.io/Jim Ball is back selling his old titles such as Freedom Soldier and Dungeon of Terror 1925 for about $2-$4 dollars each. What a world.

I get the impression he was so traumatized by the experience of providing customer support that he is worried that people will harry him if the code gives them trouble.

I did eight years ago. He even dug up the old source code, but was not willing to release it if he could not get it to even compile.

That is great to hear! Congratulations! I have also sent him an email asking if he knows the licensing situation of the GCS Mega Art Pack, as that would be cool to have released as public domain or Creative Commons. Should also ask him about some mysteries, like where did Cyberpuck come from, and what is his relation to artist Colin Stokes?

It is official. Kevin Stokes says the PieSkySoft Wiki is, and I quote, "Awesome!"
There you go, ladies and gentleman. Happy New Year.

Well, I get the impression that both Kevin Stokes of Pie and Scott Miller of 3D Realms were simply trying to recruit names from the Doom community (that is how Jay Wilson, later a head designer on Diablo III, also got involved in Blood). It really was a small world in the FPS scene back then.

Nice.
Do you think you could add my new full wiki to the external links?

Well, I am thinking of asking Kevin Stokes about whether or not he would consider releasing the GCS Mega Art Pack files under a public domain or Creative Commons license. Could make a very nice contribution to OpenGameArt.org.

I am wondering if there is any way we can make sure the two of us have a copy of every game we have found so far, as a redundant backup.
