Exhaustive list of games made in DOS 3DGCS

While I'm still in the process of recovering games, I've been able to dig up a few previously unknown titles and some media:

I've managed to recover "Demon", "Soren 3D" and "Wing Do", although the last one doesn't work with sound as some files are missing.

In Soren3D another title is shown with screenshots "Mortal Areas", info can be found here: ogdb.eu/index.php?section=title&titleid=917 but it seems to be lost for now

Another new game was discovered on a german cd: "John Westwood" a western style shooter (think outlaws in gcs3d), but unfortunately the author screwed up the installer and a bunch of essential files are missing. Only the first room works, which is a shame, because a lot of work seems to have been put into that one.

Good progress.. screenshots of north vs memorial look interesting.. the fire engine in the burning school shot remind me of trucks in mod-g.. I really wonder what the game play exterior of burning building was like. I made a level like this in castle death Race that came out awesome. As well the fire engine shot make me want another angle of the white car screen shot. ...interesting discoveries keep up the good work

I'm trying to organize 30 years of collected games and post what I have to archive.org and related groups. Stumbled across this board while working through my pre-2000s GCS games. Actually I wanted to do some GCS stuff again anyways so this might just be the motivation I needed.

1000 thanks for re-uploading the archive I sent you all those years ago. After losing my GCS files a few years back, I was unable to fill some of the gaps. This helps me out so much! Thanks again, that just made my day!

We're at 97/119 games up from the previous 94/113 in 2021.

It also seems that I'm missing the "Escape!" game, mentioned here: pieskysoft.miraheze.org/wiki/Escape!
If someone has a download somewhere, I'd greatly appreciate it and update the list.

Amen bro when that comes together it will be a good day. One thing that I recognize since 20/20 is that FPS became so realistic out of nowhere it made a market for the Retro FPS they call them Boomer shooters but there's a lot of attention to it. So if there was a catalog of these GCS games that were accessible to that community it could give them all a new life and bring attention back to this engine that we appreciate and love. As well I like tinkering with the old games and there's some known Classics from the engine but when I find something new it's like wow. And then I study it it's like a glance inside the Creator's mind and you start seeing that they employed different tricks or had a different take on it. So I'm definitely going to keep my eyes peeled for when your catalog becomes available.. thanks for the devotion and all the hard work

I don't know why I like the GCS games so much. When the eingine was released in the mid 90s it was immediately compared to DOOM, which looked SO much better. A year later we got Duke3D.
In addition to that, most of the GCS games were made by kids, teenagers or amateurs and usually looked and played the part. But every time I discover a new GCS game or get back into it after a break I get all excited.

I got the GCS as a birthday present in 96 and it was like magic. Never made a full game back then, but I've got at least one or two projects I want to create and finish and add to the list. The retro FPS hype you mentioned might actually be something that can get some of those GCS games a second chance

Yeah exactly I found you guys in 2020 and it's like here's my people. But at the same time I started recognizing everybody using this term boomershooter and then when I recognize what they were talking about yeah there's quite a large audience and if we do something it's best to strike when the iron's hot. And a list as impressive as what you have achieved would definitely attract a lot of attention back to the GCS..

The GCS was a birthday gift for me as well, those were some good times begging my dad for the extra object Library or midi music sound pack.. has the internet became a thing OMG we really had a rad community those were such exciting times. And what we're doing archiving and preserving that history is really special to me. So nostalgic

Okay, here it is. I spent the last week working on the list, completely redoing the whole list, re-checking every entry and compiling more accurate information.

Changes made:
-added separate Software list
-added "How to Help" page
-added old defunct download links to "fully lost" titles when available
-started adding links to developer websites (Archive.org)
-added update history sheet
-used accurate game titles whenever possible
-added developer name
-added release date
-distinction between shareware/demo and full version release
-links to archive.org pages, youtube videos or screenshots of lost games as proof of their existence
-subsequently removed games that were purely based on hearsay (unless from the developer themselves)
-all archives redone with proper naming (same as the chart) and file dates wherever possible
-noted when a game is currently "fully lost" and when only the non-shareware version is lost
-separate entries for different versions of games
-added original installer if available

As a result, there are now well over 150 total entries in the list. I discovered a lot of new information over the last week as well.

File downloads will be available soon, I'm preparing everything right now and trying to make sure there's no legal issues with anything (some stuff is still commercially available for example).
