I am making an attempt to check this game out and I am sort've finding my way around the game world, but I'm wondering why I die every time I try and attack, and at a certain point I'm just going in circles through the mansion. I even have a little exploit that lets me clip OOB, and even with that, I still can't figure out what I'm supposed to do. Is there any walkthrough or advice I can get on this game? Thanks.

Like any survival horror game, you need to keep searching.
The basement and the library hold some key Information. Find those and you will get more information that will lead you further down the way.

Yeh I've been to those places already and got the items there. I also found this thing that's supposed to be able to attack enemies? But it doesn't seem to do anything. And again, if I try attacking the game just kills me which seems like a clunky manner to remove combat.
Like, I've done and explored virtually everything and I've found the Cathalon thing of the game's title, but I can't attack anything nor interact with it beyond picking those items up that remove the barriers, and I think there's like 5 total of those orbs? I dunno, in the end I'm just wandering around this game unable to really do anything besides pick things up, and I'm really not sure what I'm supposed to do.
Also, not a major complaint as I'm able to just reach it through OOB shenanigans, but does anyone know why the Windows GCS 3.x engine has a problem with climbing ladders? I can only briefly climb them and then just drop off of them which is super annoying and it effects every game on this version of the engine that has ladders.

Well I don't know how, but I found an alternate upload of this game on Legends World that also had a difficult time extracting until I used WinZip, but finally in the game I can attack things without immediately dying for some absurd reason. I was also able to beat the game the glitchy way with my OOB trick.
